If your equipment uses a bayonet-style twist-lock base versus a two-pin push-fit base, that alone rules out most incorrect options.

Step 4: When in doubt, ask before you buy

Fitting the wrong voltage or wattage bulb can shorten its life dramatically or damage sensitive equipment.
